American/Iranian artist from Los Angeles, California residing in Cannes, France.
Highly influenced by two opposite cultures Sara’s language and influences have derived from the Abstract
Expressionist movement, utilizing color, textures, material, and form.

Graduated from the California State University Northridge, California, Sara furthered her art education at the University of California, Los Angeles. Studying under Saul Bernstein and Suzanne Bothwell each Professors and International artist in their own right contributing greatly to her strong sense of expression.

Sara derives her inspiration and ideas from a variety of sources, her subject matters are everywhere. A student of life and it’s many worlds; the artist uses her Human experience and the world of subconscious to draw forth images. The artist work is impacted by the dialectics of the relation between the visible and the invisible. The static and dynamic, the active and the passive in our world. Living and traveling to different continents have greatly influenced, shaped and refined the artist mind, belief and vision. Sara believes in non conformity in her expressions, In her words: “ Obedience is not creation and conformity is not an option.” The objective is not to be a Rebel, but and artist expressing her true self and vision in relation to the world of dualities: Spirit and material, finite and infinite. Sara believes that in her work, her human experience and the multidimensionality that we possess as beings can be an implementing tool to bring forth images from the subonscious.

The artist is greatly influenced by the abstract expressionist masters such as: Willem de kooning, Lee Krasner, Jackson Pollack, Paul Klee to name a few as well as the old classical masters such as Michel Ange, Goya, Caravaggio, Velasquez and many more.

Color and intuition are the starting point of Sara’s creativity, while the intellect plays and important role in ordering and clarifying the intentions of the artist. She uses intuition as a catalyst, a means of tapping sources in the inner recesses of her mind, which are then consciously shaped by her intellect. The result is an “ Art that lies behind the cloth of surface things” it is deeper than appearances and must be delved for.
